I discovered Elemis Skincare through an Octoly collaboration for my old instagram, afocusedheart. I was gifted three items from their Superfood collection in exchange for an Instagram post. I like keeping in my travel bag for the pure fact that it makes my skin feel refreshed despite the stress of being on a road trip.
Elemis Skincare: About the Brand
Elemis is a British skincare brand with over 30 years of expertise in skincare. They are available in 45 countries now and are making moves globally. The brand believes in “truth in beauty”.
Superfood Nourish and Glow Collection
The collection includes antioxidant rich superfood ingredients while promoting a healthy glow. I wanted to focus on the products that I have tried, tested, and loved for months.
Superfood Facial Wash
This face wash is advertised as a green juice for the face while removing daily grime. It includes ingredients such as broccoli, wheat grass, and kale extracts. It also formulated with a pre-biotic, avocado, and pumpkin seed oil. It says that it leaves the skin healthy and refreshed.
I would have to agree. The face wash smells like a green juice. You know the smell. It just smells like health. It did take some getting used to because I haven’t really tried any other face wash that gives me that healthy skin smell.
It does leave my oily skin clean and refreshed, without being overly stripping to the skin. When I was younger, I enjoyed cleansers that made me feel like I have no oil or grime left, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to embrace my skin. No other face wash gives me this kind of clean specifically.
Overall, it is probably the product that I would purchase out of the collection.
Superfood Kefir Tea Mist
This mist is a 4-in-1 mist that includes coconut water, Rooibos Tea, Aloe Vera, and Kefir Ferment. It is meant to be a refreshing mist that is able to tone and prime the skin. It can also be used to set makeup and a refresher throughout the day.
Out of my whole mist collection, this is probably the one I’ve used the most. It feels rich and my skin always feels healthy whenever I do use it. I have to admit that I’m not exactly the best at using my mists. Sometimes I feel like my other mists don’t really make a difference. I feel like they really do weigh down my skin despite refreshing claims.
I really should use this mist more. Now that I’m looking back, I really do feel like it has made my skin feel just that perfect amount of soft.
An Acceptable Con
One thing to consider is that it does expire faster than my other skincare products. It said 6 months after opening for my Superfood Facial Wash. I think it is acceptable though because how it is formulated like a green juice. I wouldn’t really expect it to last for a year like my other cleansers.
It is also a little bit pricier in comparison to other cleansers.
Cerave is a brand that is easily acceptable on Amazon and other drugstores throughout the United States. It can be found approximately $13-19, but with certain coupons can be brought down to lower than 10. It has been considered a dependable brand that many enjoy.
On the other hand, the Elemis cleanser is $30 on the website. I believe they do sales though for major holidays. I will update on how much the savings are, but as I’m writing this it is currently at that price.
Final Thoughts on Elemis Skincare
I’ve liked the products that I have tried out so far. I think it does give my skin that clean healthy feeling without overly stripping to the skin barrier. I still need to test out their other products and I do have the Superfood Glow Priming Moisturizer so I’m definitely using that soon.
Have you tried out Elemis Skincare? What are your thoughts? Any recommendations?
