It’s a good day to empty a sunscreen especially when it’s a winner. The Skin1004 Sun Serum is a sunscreen that I’ve been seeing around social media for quite some time. I picked it up from Stylekorean along with a couple different sunscreens I want to try. I have to say that it’s a great pick.
Skin1004 Sun Serum: Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit SPF50+ PA++++
The Skin1004 Sun Serum is a sunscreen that just checks all the boxes. I don’t know what it is, but Korean sunscreen formulations are just top tier and this one is just another great option. The main things to know about this sunscreen are that it doesn’t have a white cast, it’s relatively affordable, and it blends in seamlessly. A bonus is that it doesn’t sting my eyes either.
I haven’t really had the chance to try out much more from the Skin1004 line, the Sun Serum is the first on my list and I’m definitely going to have to try more.
I’ve actually already finished this one. Another thing I like about this is about how satisfying it empties. It sucks out the product so perfectly.
Available for $17 at Amazon and Stylevana.
Purito Soft Touch Sunscreen SPF50+
With the Skin1004 Sun Serum, I already have a backup because it’s going to be a permanent sunscreen in my rotation. Since I did finish this one, I do also want to talk about the sunscreen I opened after the Skin1004 Sun Serum. I opened the Purito Soft Touch Sunscreen SPF50+.
This is another sunscreen that I have been loving lately.
My first impressions on the Purito Soft Touch Sunscreen is that it’s a great Korean sunscreen on par with some of my holy grail favorites. Of course no white cast, of course it has seamless application, of course it doesn’t sting my eyes.
Available for $15 at Stylevana.
Korean Sunscreens
I definitely have a love affair with Korean Sunscreens. If you know my skincare journey, you would know that before I started my skincare journey, I thought that I was allergic to spf. When it comes down to it, I am allergic to a certain sunscreen active, oxybenzone. Oxybenzone is an active ingredient that broke me out so bad that I had to go to the emergency room multiple times.
Oxybenzone used to be in so many skincare and makeup products. I didn’t think that I would be able to use any sunscreen products. I’m glad that I was able to identify which ingredient didn’t work for me.
That’s important for any skincare journey though. Unfortunately, it’s a lot of trial and error. Although the Skin1004 Sun Serum and the Purito Soft Touch Sunscreen worked out for me, it might not work for you. The skincare journey is different for everyone.
When Korean sunscreens came into my life, I was able to enjoy actually using and applying and reapplying sunscreens.
I think it’s important to read reviews from individuals that you trust, but also to take things on a grain of salt. Some people who have oily skin don’t necessarily enjoy the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen, but I actually love that one and I have oily skin.
Overall
I would definitely try out the Skin1004 Sun Serum, it’s one of my favorite sunscreens I’ve used and emptied in the last six months. It’s just a great lightweight sunscreen that I will continue purchasing.
