Saie Sunvisor is a clean mineral sunscreen. I was browsing on Tiktok as one does and I saw a creator say that this was the best sunscreen he’s ever tried. This sunscreen lived in my mind rent free until I purchased it.
The stars must have been aligned because the weekend I purchased the Saie Sunvisor, the website was having a buy one get one free. I definitely needed no more convincing.
The Saie Sunvisor Mineral Sunscreen SPF 35
The Sunvisor is a mineral sunscreen from Saie. It is available on Saie and Sephora. The sunscreen is $37 for 40ml.
The main ingredient is Zinc Oxide.
The product is marketed as a “serum, oil, moisturizer, and sunscreen all in one.”
Saie Sunvisor First Impressions
I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t love at first application. I’m ultimately a chemical sunscreen lover, but I’ve been looking for the best mineral sunscreen for oily skin.
When I first applied it, I wasn’t so sure. It seemed to have a purple or gray hue to the sunscreen. I remember thinking that it was a little thick in comparison to most sunscreens I enjoy.
I tested it out again today and I have to say that I am pretty surprised. I used my typical Unseen Sunscreen in the morning, then for reapplication I used the Sunvisor.
At this point, my skin was already slightly oily since it was midday. It applied the required amount. It still had a slight white (Gray?) cast initially, but I found that when I checked again in a little bit, the white cast was gone.
The product feels good on my oily skin and it made my skin look pretty matte. I think that was my favorite part about the product is the way that it made my oily skin feel matte even after a long day.
My first application wasn’t the best but I would say that the second application has been very beneficial.
Saie Sunvisor vs. Biossance Sheer Mineral Sunscreen
In my continued search to find the best mineral sunscreen, I would say that the best mineral sunscreens I’ve found so far are the Biossance Sheer Mineral Sunscreen and the Saie Sunvisor.
Both are mineral sunscreens with Zinc Oxide. I think that is where the similarity stops.
The Biossance Sheer Mineral Sunscreen reminds me more of a chemical sunscreen in texture. It applies pretty smoothly, but it does have a slight white cast. I can’t say that I reach for this sunscreen as much as I do my favorites but I do like it enough.
I thought the Saie Sunvisor was going to be like a tinted moisturizer texture, but it is definitely somewhere in between. At first I thought that I liked the Biossance sunscreen much more but I think it is comparatively even.
I like how the white cast goes away with the Sunvisor, white also giving my face a slight sheen without being oily.
Last Thoughts
I’m happy to have tried the Sunvisor. I am still on the hunt for the best mineral sunscreen. I’m still not convinced that I’ve found it yet. I have enjoyed using the Sunvisor but I’m still not sure if I would repurchase it. I will have to revisit this subject once I empty the product completely.
There is just really something I love about chemical sunscreens. Chemical sunscreens feel like butter melting on the skin. I created a post on my favorite sunscreens, which may show my bias and preference.
Over everything, I believe that products should be enjoyed. If not, then it is not likely that we use it in the way that it is intended. This is definitely the case with sunscreen. Sunscreen should be re-applied every two hours for optimal sun protection. If you don’t enjoy your sunscreen, you may not want to apply it.
Overall, this is my experience with the Sunvisor as an oily skin 30-year old woman.
