Hello Sunday is a skincare brand focused on sunscreen. This brand is actually one of the first brands I purchased after I decided to focus on skincare.
I thought it was a different brand when I initially purchased it but I was excited nonetheless when I received the package.
I like how the product names showed homage to the Friends show titles. I was also bingeing Friends when I made this purchase so it is only fitting.
Hello Sunday SPF 50 Review: The One That’s Got it All
I purchased mine from Beauty Bay for $23.50 for 50 ml. Pretty good pricing since Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen is $36 for 50 ml.
The ingredients include hyaluronic acid and vitamin c.
First impressions: I wasn’t sure about it when I first used it. It feels very much like Vaseline, but gritty. It does dissolve in the skin pretty evenly, so that’s a bonus.
Fast forward to a couple months later. I’ve tried more that a dozen sunscreens, some I’ve loved, some I’ve hated. I would say that this is somewhere in the middle.
I honestly don’t think I would repurchase it even though it is significantly cheaper than Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen.
Why I wouldn’t repurchase the Hello Sunday’s Sun Primer SPF 50
- When it comes to sunscreens, I feel like they have to be one of the best for me to repurchase it. I love testing out sunscreens, and I just don’t think that going through another container of this would be beneficial.
- Sunscreens require continual reapplication. I did not enjoy the reapplication process for this. I’ve never tried it underneath makeup, but I can only imagine that the grittiness wouldn’t be great for keeping your makeup intact.
- There are so many options out there. The one comparable sunscreen I would say is Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen which unlike Hello Sunday’s Sun Primer isn’t gritty and blends in flawlessly.
What would I repurchase from Hello Sunday?
I would definitely purchase their The One for Your Lips SPF 50 Lip Balm. Sometimes we forget about using sunscreen for our lips, or maybe that’s just me? I do like this lip balm though!
It’s extremely cheap! Only $5.75 for 15 ml on Beauty Bay.
In comparison, the cult favorite Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm is $23 for 15 ml on Sephora.
Both are just as moisturizing, but the Hello Sunday one is much more affordable and it has sunscreen! Also the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm can be a little too much at times, but I think the Hello Sunday Spf Lip Balm is just enough.
A Hello Sunday product I am interested in purchasing
I do want to try out their Invisible Sun Stick. It looks like a deodorant which I think would be really helpful for reapplication throughout the day. It is relatively affordable just like their whole line up.
I actually haven’t tried out a SPF stick despite all the sunscreens I’ve tested out over the last year. I have been eyeing another SPF stick by Isntree.
Overall thoughts
The Hello Sunday Sun Primer isn’t bad. I’m not mad that I spent my money on it. I do like testing out products, especially newer products that may not be highly hyped up. I’m happy that I found a good spf lip balm that’s affordable.
I am actually almost done with my spf. I’ve been using both this one or my Cay Skin sunscreen in the morning interchangeably, mostly using it on my slow mornings.
I like using it when I’m mostly at home and not running errands because it can make me a little bit oily. Definitely my chill little sunscreen.
