I just finished the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF and it was definitely time to try out a new sunscreen. I opened up the Naturium UV Reflect Antioxidant SPF. I’ve been wanting to try out Naturium skincare for a while and I’ve been waiting for a chance to open up.
I’ll do a review of the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen and a first impression of the Naturium UV Reflect sunscreen. I’ve only used the Naturium sunscreen for a whole day (though I did reapply at least 3 times).
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF 50+
If you’re not a stranger on Instagram, you already know how much I love the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. At this point, I’ve lost count of how many I’ve finished. Despite how many sunscreens I’ve tried in just the past year alone, I just keep coming back to the BOJ sunscreen.
I’ve done several blog posts including the BOJ SPF. I’ve even included it on the best sunscreens round up of 2022.
All this to say that I love this sunscreen, I don’t know if I’ll ever stop repurchasing it. It just works for my skin. I have oily, acne-prone skin. It doesn’t make my face feel oily, even through the summer. It also doesn’t feel heavy even after several reapplications.
I would say that the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen has a cult following for a reason. To be fair, it doesn’t work for everyone. For some, it can be a little too oily after a while. I think that it is worth a try though, especially if you haven’t tried it before.
Quick Overview: No white cast, no pilling, lightweight, no eye-stinging.
Would I recommend? A thousand times yes, A million times yes.
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF 50 PA++++ is available on Amazon, StyleKorean, and Stylevana.
Naturium UV Reflect Antioxidant SPF 50 PA++++
I’ve heard so many great things about Naturium. I could not wait to try it. I was excited to be on the PR list, but just like with most things, I had to cycle through my stash to use it.
If you haven’t heard of Naturium, it is actually a newer brand. I heard about the brand through James Welsh and Susan Yara. From what I remember, Susan Yara used to be involved in the brand’s foundation, but from more recent articles, I found that E.L.F. actually took the brand over.
Now back to the Naturium UV Reflect Antioxidant SPF.
Today, I did a full day of trying out the Naturium UV Reflect Antioxidant SPF. To start on a good note, I’ll say that I’ve enjoyed this day of testing it out.
My first impressions: The Naturium SPF is lightweight! When I say that it’s lightweight, it’s lighter than the La Roche Posay Anthelios sunscreen. If you’ve tried the LRP spf, then you would know exactly what I’m talking about.
The texture is almost serum-like. Actually, that’s the right way to explain it. The Naturium SPF is what I would think of when people talk about serum sunscreens.
It blends into the skin seamlessly, absolutely no white cast on me. (I have light-medium olive skin tone) Even with reapplication, I didn’t experience any sort of pilling. I reapplied it several times throughout the day.
Lastly, it does not sting my eye. Although I touched on this last, I have to say this is one of the most important aspects of a good spf for me. Some great sunscreens have unfortunately failed me because I couldn’t stand how much it stung my eye. One great example is the Skin Proud spf.
I loved almost everything about the Skin Proud spf. It’s lightweight, affordable, and easy to blend into the skin. Unfortunately, it stung my eye like no other. I resorted to having to use it for my arms and legs, a great sunscreen still, but definitely had to be off limits for my face.
This might not be an issue for everyone, but for individuals with sensitive eyes, this is an important factor to consider.
Also important to note that sometimes I cannot tell if a product stings my eye until a longer trial period is completed. I have high hopes that the Naturium UV Reflect Antioxidant spf does not disappoint me.
First impressions quick overview: no white cast, no eye stinging, easy to blend, lightweight.
Would I recommend? Yes. Based on my first impressions, yes. But do take that on face value. Longer trial periods give individuals a better idea of how a product works. I’ll try to come back to this post or post an update once I’ve emptied it.
Naturium UV Reflect Antioxidant SPF 50 PA++++ is available at Amazon and Naturium.
Last Thoughts
I cannot wait to keep trying out the Naturium spf. I’m hoping that it keeps working out for me. But if all else fails, I can always purchase another Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun spf I guess. (:
