There is nothing I love more than skincare empties. Skincare empties feel like such a huge accomplishment. It means that I was actually did my skincare routine consistently to the point that I I’m able to open up new products. As much as I love my tried and true products, I’m always happy to try out new skincare releases and recommendations from other skincare enthusiasts.
September Skincare Empties
Farmacy Strawberry Shortcake Clean
When it comes to cleansing balms, Farmacy has never disappointed me. Although my all time favorite cleansing balm is Farmacy’s Green Clean, the Strawberry Shortcake is quite an addicting version. I finished this cleansing balm so fast, I feel like I opened it then a week later, it was empty. If you like strawberry scents, I recommend trying this one out. The scent isn’t too overpowering for me at all. I actually looked forward to using it every night.
The formula is amazing, it melts down beautifully just like Green Clean. After it melts down makeup, sunscreen, and the skincare of the day, it is easy to rinse off. Some cleansing balms frustrate me because after I’m done cleansing, my skin feels as if I didn’t even use a cleanser. Unlike others, Farmacy cleansing balms make my skin feel clean without feeling stripped and dry.
This was my favorite skincare empty of the month!
Positive: Melts beautifully, Doesn’t leave the skin too dry, Strawberry Scent, Actually rinses quite easily. Packaging can be recycled through the Empties Program.
Negative: If you don’t like strawberries too much, I would just pick the original. Some individuals left reviews stating that they didn’t appreciate the scent, but still loved the formula.
Available for $36 (100 ml) at Sephora and Farmacy.
Beekman 1802 Milk Shake Hyaluronic Acid & Squalane Facial Toner Mist
I loved this mist! The Milk Shake mist is actually the first product that I’ve tried from Beekman 1802. If the other products from the line are anything like this mist, then I’m ready to try everything else. It is super refreshing, while still being lightweight. I also love anything with hyaluronic acid and squalane, my skin just eats those ingredients up.
On this month’s skincare empties, this is the product that I finished the quickest.
Positive: Refreshing, Great ingredients list
Negative: A little pricier than some skincare mists (they frequently have sales though so I would definitely wait on a sale).
Available for $19 (2 ml) at Amazon, Ulta, and Beekman 1802.
About Me Be Clean Water Sun SPF 50+ PA++++
One thing about me is that I consider myself a sunscreen connoisseur. I’ve reviewed more sunscreens on this website than any other skincare product because I find that when an individual discovers a good sunscreen, their life is revolutionized. A good sunscreen opens up a new world.
I’ve found several sunscreens that I repurchase regularly, but I’m always open to finding out a new sunscreen to add to my never ending list of favorites. If you’re looking for one that I found no issues with, I just reviewed the Skin1004 Sun Serum. On the top of my head though, I also highly recommend the viral Beauty of Joseon sunscreen and the Round Lab sunscreen is to die for.
Let me get back on track.
The About Me Be Clean Water Sun is a great option. It meets all the characteristics I think of when it comes to a good sunscreen. It blends in easily. It is lightweight. It doesn’t pill. It doesn’t have a white cast. When it comes to Korean sunscreens, a lot actually meet the required characteristics.
When it comes to About Me as a brand, I haven’t really heard a lot about it. There is not a lot of hype surrounding it in comparison to the main brands available in the Western Marketplace. Certain Korean sunscreens like the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun is readily available in the Western marketplace, which can make it hard to compete. I can’t be the only one who prefers to buy things on Amazon.
At the end of the day, I do still think that it’s a great option to buy Asian skincare from sites like Stylevana and StyleKorean. These marketplaces allow us to see what else they have to offer other than those that are regularly on our social feeds. Half of what I have previously included in my skincare empties are discovered by browsing.
Positive: Blends in quickly. Lightweight. Doesn’t pill. No white cast. Affordable.
Negative: If you’re not into scents in skincare products or if you have a sensitivity to scents, I’m not sure that I could recommend this one. It has a little bit of a herbal scent, it kinda reminds me of medicine.
I do recommend this one despite the scent. I enjoyed using this one up and it was helpful that it was easy to apply because my kids used this one as well.
Available for $16 at StyleKorean.
September Skincare Empties Summary
I enjoyed every single one of these skincare empties. That’s not always the case. Sometimes, I finish some skincare products just so I can finish it and get it out of rotation, but sometimes it’s a good month of skincare empties.
If I had to pick one of these to pick up first, it would be Farmacy’s Strawberry Shortcake Clean. This is partially because it is limited edition and partially because it was just so much bliss to use.
What are your skincare empties for the month? Which product from my empties are you likelier to pick up?
