Farmacy Beauty is a well-loved skincare brand that created cult favorites such as the Green Clean Cleansing Balm and my personal favorite Honey Halo Moisturizer. I have yet to try a Farmacy Beauty product that I did not love.
I heard about the Farmacy Beauty affiliate program through individuals that I follow on Instagram. Although I haven’t really found success in affiliate marketing so far, I don’t mind trying.
I wasn’t even sure if I was going to get approved. I’ve seen a wave of positive responses from some nano influencers on how excited they are to finally be “Farmacists”.

My Experience
I was really excited to be a part of the Farmacy program. I was even more excited after I attended the virtual Meet and Greet. I just thought that the individuals that worked within the brand really did care about their products and really wanted to make it work.
I felt a part of a family.
I couldn’t believe that I would be a part of a program that would actually educate their affiliate members about their products. I felt like they really did care about how their products are represented in social media.
The program was focused on both making sales and content creation.
I knew that I would be able to create content. I wrote a blog post about my favorites and I created multiple in-feed posts and reels for the brand. My instagram post performed well.
I knew I wasn’t going to get direct monetary compensation for my content creation, but I did love the brand so I didn’t mind creating posts for them organically.
I haven’t made any sales though.
I haven’t had the best luck with affiliate marketing even through Rewardstyle or just individualized marketing programs. It can get hard to get people to use your code if you’re a smaller creator.
I thought that the brand was fine with that since they valued content creation as well.
Then I received the email stating that I was removed from the affiliate program and that effective immediately, my codes would stop working. I didn’t really take it personally.
I did keep my eyes out on whether there were other individuals that were removed from the Farmacy Beauty Affiliate Program. The email that was sent was a generic email, the kind that was mass sent.
Still, I understood.
I wasn’t meeting the sales guidelines.
I didn’t think that I would be removed that quickly, especially with how welcoming their marketing team seemed to be.
Content Creators United
After seeing continuous Instagram stories about how they were removed, I talked to my friend about it since she was removed as well. I found out that someone created an Instagram to broadcast the grievances of individuals who were removed just like me.
Some had different views about the Farmacy Beauty Affiliate Program.
Some believed that the staff was unprofessional in handling the situation.
Some believed that they should have stated their expectations from the beginning instead of having creators believe that they are able to compensate for their lack of sales by creating content.
It actually reached Farmacy.
All the way up to the CEO.
The CEO talked to @marblebeautylife who acted as our representative. They talked about our grievances.
They paused the program. They still don’t have a solution, but they did state that the program was mishandled.
Lessons Learned from the Farmacy Beauty Affiliate Program
I think that I might be done with individualized affiliate programs for now. I’m not exactly the best at making sales in a timely manner, especially with a smaller following.
I will revisit it once I build my following.
I will continue posting links through RewardStyle and ShopStyle. I still get commissions through those links, so I’m not even sure why I wanted to test out these programs, to begin with.
I still love Farmacy Beauty’s products, specifically Honey Halo.
