In my skincare routine, luxury products belong to the nighttime. I used to be an individual who never did her nighttime routine. The most that you could get out of me was a makeup wipe (Yikes!)
I just finished my Charlotte’s Magic Cream and I thought it would be the perfect time to review my the product while giving my first impressions of the next product in my rotation.
I like leaving my luxury products for my night routine because it encourages me to actually do it. That is definitely a hack for people like me who need something to look forward to.
Luxury skincare does come with a price tag, so it is important that you do your diligence in choosing which product to use, even more so when you currently have affordable or mid-price products that work for your skin.
Magic Cream vs Diamond Creme

- Aloe Vera
- Shea Butter

My experience: I really did enjoy this product. It feels great on the skin especially on days when I exfoliate. It does provide a sense of luxury when applied. I’m not sure if it’s because I know the price point, but I have never really had an issue with this product. I haven’t felt that my skin was too dried out since I started using it regardless of the amount of products I continually try.
Price Point: $100 for 1 fl. oz or 30 ml of product.
Would I purchase/ repurchase? Probably in the future. I actually got this product gifted through Octoly, but I am pretty happy with the product. I think the true test is how my skin will react now that I’ve actually finished it. If it becomes dry or sensitized, then it might be a Holy Grail product. I believe that they do have sales from time to time, so I’ll have to check on how low it could go on sale.
Overall rating: 8/10
Kaplan MD Diamond Contour Collagen Boosting Hydration Creme
Diamond Creme Ingredients
- Dr. Kaplan’s exclusive 22 Plant Extracts
- Crushed Diamonds
- Matrixyl Synthe’6 Peptide
- UGL Complex
- 5 Moisturizing Factors: Jojoba Esters, Olive Squalane, Seaweed, Hyaluronic Acid, and Safflower Oleosomes
Claims: Improves skin firmness, elasticity, hydration, appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, plumpness and tightness, and softer, more hydrated skin.
First Impressions: I like it so far. I’ve used it for two nights and no complaints. I do like how it reminds me of a spa. I think it’s from the smell/ fragrance. I don’t think it is too strong but if you are highly sensitive to fragrances, maybe test it out first. I’ll do a longer review once I finish it because I think that’s how to truly know how a product reacts to your skin.
Price Point: $110 for 1.7 fl. oz or 50 ml of product
Would I purchase/ repurchase? If it continues to impress me, then I might. It is more product for the price point and I did see that the website offers new customers 15% off. The brand did send this product for me to create content for on my Instagram (@realskindiaries). I decide to bump this product up on my list because I did finish about 1/4 of it creating texture shots lol.
Overall rating: I can’t yet! It’s too early.
Last Thoughts: I think there are similarities between both formulations. Both are on a higher price point, but comparable to other innovative brands in the industry. There are sales, so if I were to order luxury products, I am more likely to purchase it at that time, I would definitely recommend that you do as well.
