2024 really just few by! When it comes to moisturizers, I can’t say that I used any that was subpar but a couple definitely stood out. A couple are repeat offenders (in a good way). I want to keep better track of what I’ve used skincare wise next year so the information is much more comprehensive. As an oily girly, these are the ones that stood out for different reasons.

The best moisturizers of 2024
Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream $72 / 1.7 oz
Unfortunately I had a feeling that I was going to love this one. Tatcha has a great reputation in the skincare space, but I was hesitant to try it out. The moisturizer is on the pricier side and I had a feeling that I would get hooked.
The texture is lush, on the thicker side, but isn’t a pain to apply. My skin is happy whenever I use it. I typically use it at night, it is great for moisture retention. Also, the packaging is too cute. It comes with a little spatula. I don’t really use the spatula though because it can be a bother having to put it back in place. I know, I know, I really should use the right tools to avoid contamination. Definitely recommend being a better skincare girly than me haha.
Lastly, Tatcha has also made refill pods available for sustainability (and money saving) purposes. The refill is still on the pricier side at $62, but that’s still a slight win that I am willing to take.
I would recommend purchasing it when Sephora or Tatcha has a sale, OR at the very least use Rakuten so you can get a rebate!
Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream $54 / 1.7 oz
The Skinfix Barrier+ Cream may actually be tied or really really close to how I would rank Tatcha’s the Dewy Cream. This moisturizer actually saved me from a time when my redness was exacerbated. I don’t know if it was my allergies or the season but my skin was definitely unhappy with me.
I knew this one had good reviews so instead of finishing up the moisturizer that I was currently using, I did something that I don’t normally do and I opened up a new product. Maybe it’s my anxiety, maybe I’m slightly obsessive, but regardless I was happy I took that chance.
I love the packaging because it is simple. It has an airless pump dispenser which means that I don’t need to use a spatula (and I don’t need to risk potential contamination). It is a lighter consistency in comparison to Tatcha, but it still feels moisturizing.
Refills are also available for the Barrier+ cream. Auto replenishing makes recurring orders cheaper, at a lower price at Skinfix.com in comparison to Sephora.
Farmacy Honey Halo $48 / 1.7 oz
Honey Halo, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I mean really this quote applies to a lot of Farmacy’s products as well, but I digress. I have sang Farmacy’s praises here at least two times.
At this point, I can’t remember how many times I’ve emptied Honey Halo. I will never refuse a restock from Farmacy, and if there’s one product I would love to have for free for the rest of my life, it would probably be Honey Halo.
Thicker (than some) consistency, but melts into the skin beautifully. I like adding it on the rotation during the winter times, but I would be fine using it all year.
I love the packaging. Some sizes come with a spatula, which is able to be magnetically attached to the product’s lid. Significantly easier to keep track of and clean in comparison to Tatcha. My only gripe on the packaging is that it can get a little bit hard to get the parts on the side walls.
Price point wise, it is the cheapest out of my three favorites without sacrificing quality. I don’t think that it has refills though, at least from what I’ve seen anyways. It does come in a bigger jumbo size or a mini size if you just wanted to test it out or bring it whenever you travel.
I should really start counting how many Honey Halo containers I would go through for the rest of my life, for science you know?
The Runner’s Up
I will briefly talk about two moisturizers that may not have made my top three, but are still good contenders. First, I have to mention Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream. I haven’t used it in a while, mostly due to price point (and my current skincare stash). Despite that I still remember how much I loved it. It is the priciest product out of all five. I guess I’ll just continue dreaming about it until I manifest getting an unlimited supply maybe one day? (sometimes I’m delulu, sometimes I’m just putting it out on the universe haha)
Second, I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the Rem Global Protection Day Cream. According to the product description, it was made for sensitive and dry skin, as well as eczema-prone skin. My oily-combination skin definitely should be part of this description because I love this moisturizer.
I didn’t want to list this one higher since I’m only halfway done and a lot could happen in between. I do really enjoy this formula though. The packaging is unique in comparison to other moisturizers. I think it is easier for travel, decreasing the risk for spillage. I might have to do an update on this one once I finish the bottle.
Last Thoughts
My plan for 2025 is to keep a closer tally on the products that I’ve used throughout the year. (Instead of relying on my iffy memory). Also, I am planning on writing more blogs. (Hold me accountable PLS)
I don’t think you could go wrong with any of these, even if you have a different skin type. The great thing about the current day returns policies is that they are typically more lenient so you can always return it if it doesn’t go with your skin. Yes, it may cause a bit of anxiety, but don’t waste your money! (Hold me to that one too).
Anyways! Did you have any favorites that made my list? What is your favorite moisturizer? or skincare product? Or lippie product? I do wonder what the best moisturizers list will look like in the next year.
